Have fun learning while experiencing India

This is a mysterious workshop that will make you feel as if you have visited India.
Whether you have studied through classroom lectures in Japan or are experiencing mantras and yoga philosophy for the first time, please learn with your whole body and be immersed in wisdom.

I hope to be able to share Indian culture with you while also using words that are very difficult to pronounce, such as Hindi and Sanskrit.

I hope that this workshop will help you learn about Indian culture and the wisdom of yoga, and that it will help you improve your daily life.

What are Upanishads?

This approach is ideal for individuals seeking to explore the philosophy and deeper lifestyle of yoga, helping them understand yoga as a holistic way of life.

In ancient India, study was conducted through the Upanishads. In our practice, we gather in a circle to discuss mantras and yoga sutras, focusing on understanding their meanings and learning correct pronunciation in Sanskrit. We chant together as a community.

It is important to engage with the teacher and communicate openly. By discussing and sharing our thoughts, we deepen our understanding of the subject and enrich our learning experience.

This is how a conversation with the teacher in a Gurukul ( School of Life) would be .

WORKSHOP THEME

MANTRA STUDY

A mantra is a sacred word or sound that has been passed down in India since ancient times and is chanted to calm the mind. It means "word" or "character" in Sanskrit, and has been passed down as "mantra" in Japanese. Learn the meaning of mantras and how to chant them.

YOGA FLOW

Rather than a hard yoga flow, I will teach you a yoga flow (slow flow) that even beginners can do.

PRANAYAMA/MEDITATION

Pranayama, also known as breathing techniques, is a yoga practice that controls the life force (prana) through breathing techniques and improves the health of the mind and body.

PROGRAM

12:00-13:00

Mantra / Gayatri Mantra

A mantra is a sacred word, sound, or phrase that is repeated during meditation or spiritual practice. Originating from ancient Indian traditions, mantras are believed to carry specific vibrations that can help focus the mind, evoke positive emotions, and connect practitioners with higher states of consciousness.

Mantras can be spoken aloud, whispered, or silently repeated in the mind. They are often in Sanskrit and are used in various practices, including yoga and meditation, to enhance concentration, promote inner peace, and deepen spiritual awareness. Overall, mantras serve as powerful tools for personal transformation and mindfulness.

Pranayama
Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga. The term "prana" refers to life force or energy, while "ayama" means control or extension. Through pranayama, practitioners learn to regulate their breath, which helps to calm the mind, increase vitality, and improve overall well-being. Different pranayama techniques involve various patterns of inhalation, exhalation, and retention of breath, promoting physical and mental balance.

Yoga Sutra
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a collection of aphorisms that outline the philosophy and practice of yoga. Composed over 2,000 years ago, these texts serve as a guide for understanding the nature of the mind, the purpose of yoga, and the path to spiritual enlightenment.
Together, pranayama and the Yoga Sutras provide essential tools for personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to one's spiritual path.

Slow Yoga Flow followed by Guided Meditation.

Slow Flow Yoga
Slow flow yoga is a gentle and mindful practice that combines movement with breath. In this style, poses are linked together in a fluid sequence, allowing practitioners to move at a slower pace. This approach encourages relaxation, enhances flexibility, and promotes mindfulness. Slow flow yoga is suitable for all levels, as it focuses on proper alignment and the sensations within the body. It creates a calming atmosphere, making it an excellent way to relieve stress and cultivate a deeper connection to oneself.

Guided Meditation
Guided meditation is a practice where an instructor leads participants through a meditative experience, often using verbal cues, imagery, and calming music. This type of meditation is designed to help individuals relax, focus their minds, and explore their thoughts and feelings. The guide may suggest visualizations, breathing techniques, or affirmations to enhance the experience. Guided meditation is beneficial for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, as it provides support and structure, making it easier to achieve a state of calm and mindfulness.
