Indi - Japan
二つの国が教えてくれたこと
私はインドで生まれました。
激しい競争と、
あふれる若いエネルギーに満ちた国。
そこでは、人は簡単に諦めません。
たとえ困難の中にあっても、
夢を見る余地があり、
もう一度挑戦し、
少なくとももう一段上へと登ろうとする力があります。
インドでは、
野心は隠されるものではなく、
はっきりと息づいています。
満員電車の中にも、
小さな家の中にも、
夜遅くまで続くチャイを囲んだ会話の中にも、
希望は確かに流れています。
人生は決して楽ではありません。
けれど、「望む力」は生きています。
そして今、
私は日本で暮らし、働いています。
愛するこの国を、
私は「もうひとつの故郷」と呼んでいます。
一見すると、
何も問題はないように見えます。
電車は正確に走り、
街は清潔で、人々は礼儀正しい。
しかし、この整然とした風景の奥に、
どこか静かな翳りを感じることがあります。
日本はしばしば「低欲望社会」と表現されます。
それは人々に感情がないからではなく、
何かを強く望むこと自体が、
どこか疲れてしまうものになっているからかもしれません。
長年の忍耐、長時間労働、
そして不安定な雇用。
そうした現実の中で、
野心は希望というより「リスク」として
捉えられることもあるのでしょう。
多くの人が、
上を目指すことよりも、
「落ちないこと」を
願うようになっているのかもしれません。
インドは、
混沌とした仕組みの中で
夢を大きく広げます。
日本は、
調和を守るために
欲望を静かに整えます。
どちらが優れているかという話ではありません。
けれど、問いは残ります。
何かを望むことが贅沢に感じられる社会で、
真の活力は生まれるのだろうか。
だからこそ、
私たちは共に立ち上がる必要があります。
より強いコミュニティを築き、
見える場所でも、
見えない場所でも互いを支え合いながら。
困難な時代にも賢さを忘れず、
希望が揺らぐときにも希望を持ち続け、
そして——
夢を見る勇気を手放さないこと。

India - Japan
I come from India — a land of fierce competition and endless youth. A country where people rarely quit, because even in struggle there is space to dream, to try again, or at least to climb one more step.
In India, ambition is loud. Hope travels in crowded trains, small homes, and late-night chai conversations. Life is hard, but desire is alive.
I now live and work in Japan. A country I love- I call it my home .
At first glance, nothing seems broken. Trains are on time. Streets are clean. People are polite. Yet beneath this order, something feels quietly dim.
Japan is often described as a “low-desire society.” Not because people lack emotion, but because wanting something has become tiring. Years of endurance, long work hours, and fragile job security have made ambition feel risky rather than hopeful.
Many no longer dream of rising higher; they dream of not falling.
India stretches dreams in a crowded system.
Japan softens desire to preserve balance. The question is not which is better — but whether a society can thrive when wanting something begins to feel like a luxury.
We must rise together ,to build stronger communities, to lift one another in quiet and visible ways, to remain wise in difficult times, hopeful when hope feels fragile, and brave enough to keep dreaming.
